The
BIRKENSTOCK footbed mirrors the anatomy of
the human
foot so perfectly that the entire body weight is distributed
across the whole base of the foot with each and every step.
Thus, the foot receives the ultimate support it needs
to execute
its proper biomechanical motion.
For particularly sensitive feet we offer some models
with
the added feature of our "Soft-Footbed",
which Birkenstock
developed in years of intensive research. A foam cushion
is inserted between the flexible cork latex mixture, coated
in sturdy natural jute, and the suede leather cover sole.
This layer is marked by an exceptionally pronounced recoil
function, which ensures long-life padding.
Characteristics of the soft footbed:
the anatomically pre-formed foam cushion consisting of millions
of tiny air bubbles to ease walking and standing. This means
that the insert always returns to its original soft and full
shape.
